NFL Trade Rumors: Seahawks’ Frank Clark Linked to Chiefs, Jets, Colts

The Seattle Seahawks have been talking to the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts about a trade for defensive end Frank Clark, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (h/t Kevin Patra).

However, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News later reported the authentic nfl jerseys cheap Jets “have no real interest” in Clark, adding they “did their due diligence” but haven’t pursued a deal beyond that.

The Seahawks used the franchise tag on Clark this offseason, but trade rumors have started to surface since the two sides have yet to agree on a contract extension. As Patra noted: “It’s possible a Clark trade goes down early this week, shaking up the draft. It’s been reported that the Seahawks have sought a first-round pick in return for the pass-rusher.”

Clark was excellent in 2018, accumulating 41 tackles, 13 sacks, nfl jerseys for cheap  three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and an interception. The 25-year-old earned a grade of 77.4 from Pro Football Focus, good for 18th among edge-rushers.hi-res-cd7c3c37414ec2ca2eac79f53c8cc193_crop_north

It’s hard to imagine the Seahawks want to part ways with Clark. But after they signed quarterback Russell Wilson to a four-year, $140 million contract extension, Clark’s demands may be difficult to meet. Patra noted he’s likely looking for a deal “somewhere around the $90 million deal Trey Flowers got from the Detroit Lions this offseason.”cheap nfl jerseys

Under the franchise tag, Clark would make $17.1 million next season. But as Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reported April 18, some rumors indicate Clark could hold out through training camp if he doesn’t get a new deal.nfl jersey cheap

While Seahawks general manager John Schneider said he believes Clark will play for Seattle in 2019, he also left open the possibility that the Seahawks could explore a trade.cheap nfl jersey

It’s possible Clark could retrieve a first-round pick given his youth and his 32 sacks across the past three seasons. 2019 New York Jets Schedule: Full Listing of Dates, Times and TV Info

Will the New York Jets’ splashy offseason lead to its first postseason appearance in nine years, or will Gang Green stay home in January once again?

There’s evidence to suggest the former might occur: New York used its bountiful cap space to sign Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell, Baltimore Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley and Washington wide receiver Jamison Crowder to fat contracts.

Bell, who missed the 2018 season because of a contract dispute, is a year removed from amassing 1,cheap real nfl jerseys 946 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns in 15 games.

Mosley, a four-time Pro Bowl linebacker, has never made fewer than 92 tackles in best deals on nfl jerseys any of his five seasons.

Crowder endured an injury-shortened 2018, but the productive possession receiver caught 133 passes for 1,636 yards and 10 touchdowns over his previous two years.where to find nfl jerseys

Analysis

If the Jets survive a brutal stretch between Weeks 2 through 7 without incurring too much damage, they can make the playoffs for the second time this decade.

In Week 2, New York welcomes in the retooled Cleveland Browns, who are 15-1 to win Super Bowl LIII, per Vegas Insider.authentic nfl jersey wholesale

The Jets also face the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots twice (Weeks 3 and 7) and the playoff game-winning Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles once each.

On the flip side, the Jets also play eight games against teams lower than them in the Super Bowl odds ledger. Of note, New York will see the rebuilding Miami Dolphins—who are dead last on the odds list at 250-1 to win it all—on two occasions.purchase nfl jerseys

Sam Darnold can’t even remember a time when the Patriots weren’t the best

Jets quarterback Sam Darnold is 21 years old — 20 years younger than Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. And Darnold can’t even remember a time when Brady and the Patriots weren’t on top of the football world.nfl jerseys store

Darnold told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News that he’s not going to be giving any Joe Namath-style guarantees of beating the best team in the NFL, because he knows the Jets have to prove they’re better than the Patriots. Ty Montgomery Signs 1-Year Contract to Back Up Le’Veon Bell

The New York Jets reportedly added more depth to their backfield Thursday by agreeing to a deal with Ty Montgomery.

Jets should consider bringing back CB Morris Claiborne

jet

For years, the strength of the Jets’ defense has been the secondary. With star cornerbacks such as Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie giving wide receivers trouble on the outside, New York’s pass defense was elite. nfl clothing for kids

Trumaine Johnson struggled mightily in his first year as the Jets’ No. 1 cornerback. The $72 million man failed to live up to the billing in 2018 and as a result, New York’s secondary suffered. Things are bound to get worse this upcoming season if Johnson wholesale nfl nike jerseys struggles again, as the Jets are without a true No. 2 corner.

Darryl Roberts is a nice player and deserved the three-year contract general manager Mike Maccagnan granted him, but he has yet to prove he can start outside in the NFL. This is where Morris Claiborne comes into play, even though New York originally decided to let him walk earlier in the offseason.

Claiborne failed to replicate his standout nike nfl wholesale jerseys 2017 campaign in 2018, but he was still solid and reliable opposite Johnson. Given his level of production over the past two seasons, the Jets should reconsider their nfl nike jerseys wholesale original plan of letting Claiborne sign elsewhere and bring him back for another year.

At this point in the offseason, Claiborne will come relatively cheap. The Jets signed him to a one-year deal in free agency last offseason and that was when he had a decent amount of suitors. This time around, Claiborne’s market has been nearly non-existent.nfl jerseys wholesale nike

Claiborne has proven he can play in New York. He is equally adept pressing receivers at the line of scrimmage in man coverage, or dropped back in a zone defense. That should be a skill set that appeals to defensive coordinator Gregg Williams nike nfl jersey wholesale , who likes to throw a variety of looks at opposing offenses.nfl wholesale jerseys nike

Opposing scouts wonder how Jets’ new pieces fit together

3

A look at what’s happening around the New York Jets:

1. Key questions: While the Jets receive  nfl wholesale jerseys nike pats on the back for their headline-making offseason, some folks in the NFL personnel community are curious to see how the new pieces fit together. Three questions emerged in conversations with scouts and coaches:

Can a defense thrive with two middle linebackers?

Avery Williamson did a solid job last season in that role, but the front office felt compelled to sign C.J. Mosley, one of the top players on the free-agent market. To say they paid him handsomely would be an understatement — a team-record $43 million guaranteed. So now Mosley will be in the middle, with Williamson likely sliding over to the weak-inside spot. Here’s the issue: Neither one of them excels in pass coverage, nike nfl jersey wholesale leaving the Jets vulnerable against teams that like to throw to their running backs (see: New England Patriots).

Presumably, Williamson and Mosley will stay on the field in nickel situations, exacerbating the potential problem. If one sits, you’re paying a lot of money for a two-down linebacker. The Jets appear ready to move on from Darron Lee. That puzzled one coach, who called him “their best coverage linebacker.” wholesale nfl nike jerseys

The Jets gave Crowder a $17 million guarantee, making him one of the league’s highest-paid slot receivers. What people tend to forget is Enunwa, who signed a new contract ($10 million guaranteed) at the end of last season, has posted his best numbers from the slot. Even last season, when he got a chance to play outside, Enunwa still was most productive in the slot. In fact, 21 of his 38 receptions came there, according to nike nfl wholesale jerseys

Coach Adam Gase is a fan of Enunwa’s skill set, saying, “I want to make sure we do a good job of giving him variety.” There’s no nfl clothing store rule that says you can’t thrive with two slot receivers — look at the Patriots — but the addition of Crowder has some people wondering if the Jets poured too much money into one position.

How could they draft Quinnen Williams after giving big money to Henry Anderson?

The Jets, who have a lot invested in Anderson ($17 million guaranteed) and Leonard Williams ($14 million), would have three highly paid defensive tackles if they take Williams with the No. 3 overall pick.
wholesale nike nfl jerseys china
“Who sits?” one scout asked.

They could use Quinnen Williams at nose tackle in their 3-4 scheme, but many believe his best position is as a 3-technique tackle (lined up on the outside shoulder of the guard). What about nickel situations? Teams are in nickel more than 50 percent of the time, but do you really want to rush the passer with a trio of 300-pound linemen? It would be the same answer if they switch to a 4-3 base.

5 questions for Jets CEO Christopher Johnson at NFL owners meetings

Mike Maccagnan’s long rebuilding of the Jets should theoretically be complete now. Maybe not completely complete, as in they’re ready to make a run to the Super Bowl. But, after two years of lavish spending and high draft picks, being cheap nfl gear a playoff contender shouldn’t be unrealistic.

Not that Jets CEO Christopher Johnson is going to give Maccagnan a playoff mandate. But surely, the expectations have to be as high as a playoff berth now, right?

Johnson will have to answer that when he speaks to the media this week during the NFL owners meetings at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa. This is one of the most important offseasons in franchise history. What does Johnson think of it so far?nfl gear for womencut

That’s one of five big questions that Johnson needs to be asked:
1. Is Johnson expecting a playoff berth this year?nfl gear for men

He’s made it clear that he won’t demand one, or make Maccagnan’s job hinge on it. But the Jets haven’t been to the playoffs since 2010. The fan base has endured two years of rebuilding. They’ve found their quarterback, they’ve spent a ton of money in free agency. Isn’t it right to at least expect it will happen now?nfl gear for kids

It’ll be interesting to see how Johnson words this. Surely he’s thinking playoffs, but he can’t put that kind of pressure on his GM – not after promising that he won’t. He can’t set the standards low, though, either. The fan base did not react well in January when he said there’d be no playoff mandate. It’s safe to say his paying customers would like one.
2. How committed is he to GM Mike Maccagnan?nfl gear cheap

When Johnson fired Todd Bowles but kept his GM he created an interesting dynamic. Maccagnan is only signed through 2020. New head coach Adam Gase’s deal goes beyond that. It’s hard to imagine that Maccagnan’s job could be in jeopardy this year, right after hiring a official nfl gear head coach for the first time. It’s much more likely his fate is tied to that of Gase, which means another three years at least.

But the Jets do have that odd structure where the coach and GM are separate entities and both report directly to the owner. It’s unusual, but workable, but it will still be interesting to see how patient Johnson pledges to be with Maccagnan. He clearly has endorsed his GM’s rebuilding plan. But how soon does he need to see results?
3. What did Johnson think of Maccagnan’s latest spending spree?

The spree he went on in 2018 didn’t turn out so great, particularly with the regrettable five-year, $72 million deal deal for cornerback Trumaine Johnson. On paper, this one has been outstanding. It was particularly good that the Jets got their top target, Le’Veon Bell, and for a relative bargain at $52.5 million over four years.

Was it all enough? There’s still no edge rusher and still no center, and there was the unseemly whiff on edge-rusher Anthony Barr, who turned down more money from the Jets (after agreeing to terms) to return to the Vikings. Johnson had the luxury of knowing the plan going in. Was he happy with how it all turned out?cheap nfl gear for men
4. Does Johnson believe Sam Darnold has enough weapons?nfl football gear

It was painfully obvious last season that the young quarterback absolutely did not have enough offensive talent around him. Obviously, the addition of Bell will be huge, and the signing of slot receiver Jamison Crowder will help, too.nfl official gear  But the only other moves with skill players were the re-signing of receiver Quincy Enunwa and the tendering of restricted free agent Robby Anderson.

Is that enough? New coach Adam Gase sure thinks he’s got enough weapons – at least that’s what he said at the scouting combine a few weeks ago. Not everyone is sold on his high praise for Enunwa and Anderson, though. What does Johnson think? There was no real No. 1 available in free agency for the Jets to target, but many have been available in trades in recent years, and surely they could find one if they’re able to somehow get back into the second round of the draft.buy nfl jerseys cheap online
5. What does Johnson want with the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, or will he be comfortable trading down?

Johnson is comfortable being aggressive, and he loved the bold move to trade up last year to put the Jets in position to draft Darnold. With the third pick this year, they could be in position to draft a star edge-rusher – obviously their biggest need.cheap nfl jerseys online

Jets GM Mike Maccagnan ‘very open’ to trading down in NFL draft

Jets GM Mike Maccagnan sounded hopeful a few weeks ago that teams would get so desperate to draft one of the top quarterbacks this year that he could land a windfall in trade for the third overall pick.china wholesale nfl jerseys

With one month to go until the NFL draft begins, it sounds like that hope is still part of his plan.

Maccagnan said the Jets are “very open to potentially moving back from 3” when he met with reporters on Monday afternoon at the Arizona Biltmore hotel, site of the NFL owners meetings. He said, “you can probably rule out” the Jets trading up to one of the nfl jersey china wholesale top two picks, but dropping a few spots is definitely an option.

“We’d definitely be interested if another team came with an offer that we felt was worthy of moving out of the spot,” Maccagnan said. “We would definitely consider that. I’m not going to say we’re committed to doing that, but we’d definitely be very intrigued by that.”china nfl jerseys wholesalecut

There is one complicating factor, though. The Jets still need an edge rusher after linebacker Anthony Barr backed out of an agreement to sign with the Jets early in free agency. And it just so happens that there could be several top edge rushers available at 3, especially if the Cardinals take Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray at No. 1.

Could the Jets really pass on someone like Ohio State’s Nick Bosa or Kentucky’s Josh Allen just to pick up some extra draft picks, especially after losing out on Barr? It’s hard to imagine, but Maccagnan insisted Barr’s late reversal didn’t really change the Jets’ draft plans at all.nfl jersey wholesale china

“I don’t necessarily think anything we did in free agency changed dramatically how we’re going to focus on the draft,” Maccagnan said. “I think if we had done something in free agency where we got an edge rusher, you can never have enough edge rushers per se. But I don’t think it impacts us too much with the third pick.”

Depending on how far the Jets were to drop in the first round, they actually could still find an edge rusher in what most scouts believe is a very deep crop. Players like Michigan’s Rashan Gary, Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat or Clemson’s Clelin Ferrell could all be available later. And if the Jets could grab one of them and pick up extra selections — something Maccagnan would love to do since he currently holds only six picks and no second-rounder — that might be the way to go.authentic nfl jerseys china wholesale

So far, though, it doesn’t sound like anything is close. But Maccagnan made it clear that teams are definitely talking to him about deals.china nfl jersey wholesale

“We’ve definitely had conversations,” he said. “People have reached out, put out feelers. Nobody is actively trying to do anything at this point in time. But you have conversations and put out feelers, just like how they’re putting out feelers to us.”nfl china jerseys wholesale

New York Jets: Pass-Rushers

The New York Jets haven’t been even a little bit shy about adding players in free agency. The Jets made one of the biggest splash signings on each side of the ball, bringing in tailback Le’Veon Bell to boost the offense and handing inside linebacker nike nfl throwback jersey  C.J. Mosley a five-year, $85 million deal to quarterback the defense.

Still, the team’s most glaring area of weakness remains throwback nfl jersey untouched—Gang Green’s pass rush is pretty gangrenous.nfl jerseys shop

Last year, the Jets were a middle-of-the-pack team in sacks, ranking 16th in the league with 39. And while the Jets did at least re-up defensive lineman Henry Anderson (who tied for the team lead with seven sacks in 2018), the team’s done nothing shop nfl jerseys to improve in that area.

New defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has stated that the Jets will remain a 3-4 base defense so that the overhaul on that side of the ball won’t be as drastic. But it will be a major upset in a loaded draft class if the third overall pick isn’t a nfl shop jerseys  player like Kentucky’s Josh Allen or Alabama’s Quinnen Williams.nfl jerseys cheap shop
